best tomato sauce by Audrey Hepburn and passed to you by Trish
2 lbs tomatoes (best if from the garden or organic)
2 garlic cloves
1/2 onion
2 celery stalks
2 carrots
bunch of basil
boil tomatoes in water until skins start to peel off remove let cool abit and continue removing all skins
chop and saute onion garlic carrots and celery for 3 minutes in olive oil
add tomatoes and large bunch of basil still on stems add more olive oil
cover and simmer 45 minutes
add salt pepper and a bit of sugar
remove basil
throw in blender and puree
enjoy!!!!
